New York Mediated Divorce
Definition, Requirements, Pricing, and Quick Start Options Below
Our Mediation Option is for clients who have been to mediation and have a memorandum of understanding, or an MOU from a Mediator. To prepare this option for you, the New York Divorce Lawyers in our office will review your agreement and prepare a legally binding agreement under New York law. After that agreement is complete, our New York Divorce Lawyers will then prepare your divorce documents.

The cost for this option is two-fold. The first cost is for disbursement and filing fees. We have a number of filing fees that must be paid for including an index number and a certificate of dissolution. Your disbursements will include the service of process, photocopying charges, postage, and any other expense incurred by our office. Again, that is a one-time flat fee of $630.
The legal fee for this option is $695 if you do not have children and $895 if you do have children.
How do you get started?
You start by filling out the basic information required at the bottom of this page and hit the get started now button. That will take you to the payment page. Once you pay your fee, our New York Divorce Lawyers will communicate directly with you to let you know what information we need to start this process for you. If you have questions or if you’re not sure if this is the right option for you, call our office or review our divorce video education series. Those videos are there to provide you information and to answer all of your questions.
Requirements: You have successfully completed Mediation and you have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was prepared by the Mediator, and we have approved your MOU for use with this website.
Many MOU’s may be used with the streamlined process offered by this website. However, some MOU’s are incredibly complex and cannot be used with this site. Please call our office at 518-383-1182 to make arrangements to fax or email your MOU to us for review. Our New York Divorce Lawyers will promptly advise whether you can use your MOU with this website.
We do require that you provide us with the Memorandum of Understanding and we will use that document to prepare a Separation and Settlement Agreement for you. We will prepare all of the papers necessary to finalize your Divorce, which will include a Judgment of Divorce that incorporates all of the terms of your Separation Agreement.
This option does not include any negotiation by our office attorneys to finalize your Agreement. If you do not have a Memorandum of Understanding, you cannot use this option.
Filing Fees and Disbursements – $630
New York State Filing Fees are mandatory and must be paid for every Divorce Action in New York State. The Filing Fees were increased, effective July 14, 2003. Those Fees and the cost of serving the Divorce Papers, and filing them with the County Clerks office are $630.

Payment Options
Payment can be made for our services either by credit card or check online. You may also make arrangements to pay via mail by check, or by telephoning our offices to make arrangements for payment by credit card directly through our office. Services cannot be rendered prior to the receipt of payment.
